SRILANKA Jinali Amarasekera, an American Field Service Exchange Student, came from Kandy in the Island Country of Srilanka (off the coast of India). In her homeland Jinali lives with her mother, father, and two brothers. In Rome Jinali is staying with Lt. Col and Mrs. Michael Kuz- mack. At RFA Jinali has taken English, American Studies, math, chorus, physical education, Introduction to Computers, and health. During the spring season she is hopeful that she will make the track team. Jinali has a lot of things to adjust to. For instance, in her homeland most schools are not co-educational, and food in her homeland is cooked with a great deal of spices. Jinali says that her favorite food in the U.S.A. is pizza. Since coming to the U.S.A., Jinali has been able to meet and speak to many groups about her homeland, and she plans to speak about our country when she returns to her homeland. BELGIUM Gonna Haeseler, an American Field Service Exchange Stu- dent, came to Rome from Brussells, Belgium. Gonna, is a West German, and lives with her mother, father, two sisters, and her brother in Belgium. Here in Rome, Gonna lives with the Magoon family, includ- ing their three daughters: Karen, Kelly, and Kathy. As a senior, she is taking a full-load of subjects. Her hobbies include art, pottery, sailing, wind surfing, downhill skiing, bas- ketball, European handball, and photography. She says, ‘‘My experience in the United States is totally different and the lifestyle is interesting.”’ FRANCE Rachel Magnani, and Rotary Exchange student came to Rome from the Province of Lorraine, France, which is near Germany. In her homeland, Rachel lives with her mother, father, three sisters, and two brothers. Here in Rome she stays with Dr. and Mrs. Fuller and Mr. and Mrs. Occhipinti. In France Rachel studied languages. She had seven years of English, five years of German, and five years of Latin. As a senior at R.F.A., Rachel is taking Spanish. She also likes history, literature, and sociology. In her spare time Rachel's interest is reading. Her favorite sports include swimming, biking, hiking, and skiing. Rachel loves to dance and listen to different kinds of music. Rachel is crazy about our great American hamburgers, hot- dogs, and ice cream.
