Ellen Kelly President FACULTY © What is a good teacher? We could sum it up in a name — Mort Sulli- van. Imagine someone finding the time and energy to crochet enough orange and black hats for all of her homeroom students. Imagine some- one never too busy to give freely of her time and herself — both to sit dents and colleagues. Mort Sullivan taught health at RFA for seven years and will be remem- bered with warmth and respect for her professional qualities. She was extraordinary in working with students and always sought and brought out the best qualities in them. We, the class of 1979, wish to dedicate our De-O-Wain-Sta to the late Mrs. Mauricette Sullivan. Thank you Mr. Richard J. Valeri Principal Nicholas D. Mammone Helen Arthur Thomas L. The fun began Thursday with a car smash. A brilliant bonfire, spon- sored by Key Club, followed, and then the evening climaxed with a dance featuring ‘Enterprise’. Friday night, our Black Knights defeated U.F.A., 28-6. At half-time, Lisa Bjorlie was crowned Homecoming Queen. Nikki Watson, Laurie Fenton, Linda Briggs, and Linda Joy Coleman were selected as her court. Keeping with the week- end’s theme, each of R.F.A.'s three classes designed a float as a Fairy Tale. The Senior class’ “Winnie the Pooh and Piglet Too won first prize. The juniors made “Humpty Dumpty’ and the sophomores made ‘‘The Old Woman in the Shoe”, “Reminiscing” was chosen as the theme song for the semi-formal held in the deco- rated boy’s gym. The Queen and her court were escorted by Enzo Cacciatori, Dwight Davidson, Craig Moffatt, and Tim O'Meara respectively. '‘Destiny’’ provided music for this enjoyable evening. On Sunday, for the second consecutive year, a powder puff football game was played. The seniors and underclassmen battled to a 6-6 tie in overtime. Monday concluded the spirit of the weekend with a funeral march for the purpose of disposing the coffin and dummy of our defeated rival into the Mohawk River. Accompanying the march was the R.F.A. Marching Band and Flag Majorettes along with the winning senior float. I WINTER WEEKEND ™ This year’s winter weekend, Jan. 18-20, was a memorable occasion. The sophomore slave auction began the festivities. It was a big success raising over $75. The R.F.A. “Orangemen” gained its 12th victory be defeating U.F.A. (72-39). The weekend was brought to a close by a dance sponsored by the seniors, featuring the great sounds of ‘‘Sunshine’’. The highlight of the evening was the crowning of the King and his court. The king was Rusty Gray and his court was Enzo Cacciatori, Nick Bottini, Mike Ringrose and Sam Trophia. Although weather conditions were not to our advantage, everyone managed to enjoy themselves. : 2 s wes } ce “Live, From New York. . . Live from RFA... . It's Talent Night!
