The Language Department at Rome Free Academy consists of both modern and classic- al languages. Four levels are offered in French, Spanish, Italian and Latin, and three levels are taught in German and Russian. Level I empha- sizes listening and speaking skills, Level II, grammar and reading. Level III seeks to develop further previously learned skills and Level IV stresses reading and writing skills through study of literature and current periodicals. Math Teachers The Mathematics Department at Rome Free Academy offers courses in Geom- etry, Trigonometry, Elementary and Advanced Algebra, and Calculus AB (offered to the advanced student). For- tran computer programming is offered at the scholarship level. All of these classes help to strengthen our understanding of basic mathematical concepts. Mr.Durgee, Mr. Seldon, Mr. Grey.

Art Teachers The Art Department at R.F.A. is geared toward developing the student's creative abilities to their fullest extent. The classes offered are ceramics, jewel- ry, weaving, macrame, printmaking and design, figure and portrait drawing, painting, and interior design. Mr. Kelly Mrs. Hubbell, Mrs. Bellamy Music Teachers Mr. Budesheim The Music Department consists of fully accredited courses including Orches- tra, Wind and Percussion Ensemble, Concert Band, Marching Band, Voice Les- sons, A Capella Choir, Music Appreciation, Comprehensive Foundations of Music, and Sophomore Choir. The purpose of these courses is to develop each students appreciation for all periods of music, resulting in an enriched life.
