Mr. Mickler, Mr. Ruby Mrs. Downing, Mr. Rich The English Department at Rome Free Academy helps to enrich each student’s knowledge through reading and study. Aside from mastering grammar, each student is required to read certain works of literature during the year. Sophomores and juniors read short stories and plays, novels and poems. All seniors are required to take Practical Writing, Speech or Literature at the regents level, English Literature at the scholarship level, and English IV at the non-regents level.
