Helen Arthur Library Wander through the books until you feel at home The Rome Free Academy library is developing a microfilm collection. The library classroom, which also houses many books and the micro-films, is used by classes in all subjects, and by all teachers for supplementary materials. The librarians are kept very busy ordering and cataloging new books, maintaining proper study conditions, and assisting students in finding research materials for their classes. Rome Free Academy students have the opportunity to learn such languages as German, French, Latin, Spanish, Russian, and Italian. Science It’s a real gas! Under the direction of Joseph Palombi, the Science Department makes us aware of our external environment as well as our internal functions. The many courses offered are Biology, Earth Science, Health, Advanced Health, Chemistry, Physics, Genetics, and Physiology. Most of these courses require labs in which the students actually experiment and derive their own conclusions. Our Science Department aims at giving each student a solid science background.
