Helen A. Wolf Principals Carl S. Paige Anthony Dorsino Carl S. Paige has proven himself to be one of the most tireless personalities at Rome Free Academy. A Phi Beta Kappa from St. Lawrence University, he has served at R. F. A. for twenty-five years. Few jobs are too hard for him, and few jobs are too small for him to think about. With the go-getting ambition that he shows, he has gained the respect of all the people with whom he has worked. Mr. Anthony Dorsino has been R.F.A.’s Vice-Principal in charge of boys’ discipline for the past four years. A former math teacher, he is always near, ready to hear complaints from both students and teachers. Mrs. Helen A. Wolf administers to the problems of R. F. A.’s girls. She -has the skill to handle their problems with patience and understanding. Mrs. Wolf has earned the respect of all with whom she has worked.

Dorcas Watters, Chairman Guy Burneko Mary Downing English “Looking over manuscripts of unpublished rhyme” Under the supervision of Dorcas B. Watters, the English Department supplements its teaching materials with films and records in appropriate areas of study. There has been a recent stress on practical usage with more emphasis on composition and creative writing as well as on critical writing. Students practice communicating their ideas both through writing and through speaking. To provide a clearer understanding of certain plays and books, field trips are planned to see the productions as they are performed on the stage and in the movies.
