Che Learning of Who done it? The English Department! Under the direction of Dorcas C. Watters, a new positive ap proach is being taken toward the subject this year. There is less emphasis on the technicalities of grammar and more on practical usage. This is in conjunction with the increased stress on speaking and critical listening. Because the English language is already quite familiar to the students, more time can be spent in the learning of its cultural back- gro und. Rich man, poor man, beggar man, thief, doc tor, lawyer, and fire chief are all in the line of duty for Principal Carl S. Paige. He is the remark ably versatile and very capable guardian of the more than 2000 students of RFA. He is rich with amiability, generally lacking of thanks for his immeasurable help, and resourceful in get ting his way with wily teachers, stubborn stu dents, and budget-minded Board members. Mr Paige pleads for the health, education, and wel fare of his students, and is the familiar fellow of cheer at the end of the numerous and success- ful fire drills. He sets a fine example of schol arship with his BA and MA from St. Lawrence University, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. After 23 years of service at RFA Mr. Paige has earned our sincere thanks. With patience and understanding, Mrs. Helen A. Wolf administers to the problems of girls at RFA. Although her duties as a disciplinarian are many times difficult, Mrs. Wolf's interest in the welfare of student body has gained her the re- spect of the students at RFA. F. Anthony Dorsino is in his second year as assistant principal in charge of boys’ discipline.
