CLASS OF ’69 From June to September the sopho- mores took the traditional tumble in prestige and entered Rome Free Acade- my, bewildered and timorous. To mini- mize their confusion, the halls were hung with helpful posters directing them to the nearest elevator ticket vendor and reporting upcoming alma mater rehearsals. Their friends, the benevolent upperclassmen, were more than willing to misdirect them. But, as time showed the way, the sophomore class was on its way to a memorable year. Their first step on the road to unity was the sophomore election, and they put their faith in Ernie Panasci, Reena Bucknell, Dave Harris, and Anthony Grasso. At Christmas time artistic talent and enthusiasm transformed the usual institutional atmosphere of RFA into one of Christmas cheer. To obtain funds for their Christmas decorations, in which the theme was “Santa and the 69’ers,’’ several of their classmates dressed as Santa Claus and went to the homerooms asking for contributions. The grand total was well over what they anticipated. In the tradition of past Sophomore classes, their Sophomore Hop was a truly unique experience. Now the storm is ended, and the Class of '69 is firmly established at RFA. They look forward to their Junior year with confidence and anticipation. Ernie Panasci President
