Mr. Richardson’s friendly attitude, sense of humor, and sincere de- votion to his chosen profession, endeared him to all of us. His spirit will long remain as a part of the faculty, and his teaching as a part of the lives of his students.

PELKEY B.A., M.A. Syracuse Boston M.A. Albany, Syracuse ELIZABETH WHITAKER Miss Elizabeth Whitaker, Associate Director of Physical Education in charge of girls’ program, has resigned after a long period of devoted service. When Miss Whitaker entered the doors of RFA for the first time, little did she realize that through her teaching here, she would become a prominent and well liked figure in the hearts of students and faculty. With integrity and deep sincerity, Miss Whitaker, taught the girls of RFA the value of physical fitness, and the true meaning of sportsmanship. Her work never ended. When school was dismissed, she could be found supervis- ing intramural sports, directing service clubs, and organiz- ing programs for the Saturday play days. Miss Whitaker, we deeply regret your leaving us. Your long and sincere service has been more than appreciated by the students of RFA. We know that whatever you have planned for the future will prove successful. The students and faculty of RFA will always remember you and wish you happiness.

LEBEWOHL This year Rome Free Academy will lose a fine teacher and a wonderful person when Miss Harriet M. Blood leaves us. Miss Blood has taught German at R.F.A. for thirty-five years, and has sponsored der deutsche Verein (the German Club) over the years for those students who were sincerely inter- ested in supplementing their German language skills with cultural material and fun. Miss Blood will be remembered by the stu- dents and teachers who know her: first, as a human being; second, as a fine teacher. She will be re- membered as a human being because her cheerful attitude toward school and work made life at Rome Free Academy more enjoyable. She will be remem- bered as a teacher because she endured with pa- tience the mistakes of struggling students and endowed these students with an appreciation for the mental discipline of a foreign language. We thank her for what she has done for us, and hope she will enjoy the pursuits she will now take up. Lebewohl farewell.
