Rome Free Academy is very proud of its students who have won honors this year. Those pictured on this page are representative of the students who have won scholar- ships and honors. Real scholars add luster to a school because of their superior fulfill- ment of the purpose of education. JOHN WEISS, who won the local French Nation- al Contest, is also one of three who placed in the merit scholarship competition. In addition he received a scholarship to Syracuse University. JUDITH EAKINS, this year's D. A. R. winner, also placed first in the Slingerland Speech Con- test. In her junior year she won the Student Assn. Service Award. The Betty Crocker Award was given to PA- TRICIA BROMBACK. In addition, she has won a New York State Scholarship and she is also a member of the National Senior Honor Society. For showing superior ability in the field of science and math, PAT STELLATO and PAT CHARNEY won the I. R. E. Award of $300 and $150 respectively. A scholarship to Hamilton was also won by Pat Stellato.
