Carl S. Paige With sincere gratitude we, the Senior Class of Rome Free Academy, wish to express our apprecia- tion to our capable producer Mr. Carl S. Paige. During the past three years he has- given us untiring co-operation and valuable advice. We are sure of his dependability though he remains quietly in the background. Myron Whitemore With the deepest sense of.appreciation, we the Senior Class of Rome Free Academy, wish to pay tribute to our deserving Vice-principal and co-pro- ducer Mr. Whittemore. We shall always remember him for his unselfish consideration for others and his firm belief in choosing what is right. He is never too busy to offer a practical solution to our problems.

HEME “All the world’s a stage and all the men and women merely players.” In our small world, RFA is our stage on which we, the students, play our parts under the able direction of our teach- ers and administrative staff. The classrooms, the halls, the stadium, the gym, have been our sets where the spotlight has illuminated our separate joys and sadnesses, our hopes and despairs. This past year we became the proud possessors of new sets which emerged from years of confusion and construction, among them a spacious auditorium and stage. As we leave RFA for the larger stage of which Shake- speare spoke, we hope that each succeeding cast will inherit as fine a theater in which to play their varied roles as we have They have their exits and their entrances; and one man in his time plays many parts.”

Lyndon H. Strough “Full of wise saws and modern instances; And so he plays bis part.” Early this year Mr. Lyndon Strough, Superin- tendent of the Rome Public Schools, opened our new theater for further performances when he spoke at the first assembly in our new auditorium. Mr. Strough inspired the students to work toward higher goals and complimented them on the goals they had already achieved. This was not the first, nor will it, we hope, be the last time that he has given the students a portion of his wisdom gained through his many years of working with them. Attacking the job of improving our schools and facilities the Board of Education of Rome has seen the task completed that has taken many years of planning and hard work. Their dedicated effort to equip us with these fine facilities has been appreciated by these who have already used them and will be appreciated for years to come by many others. The Board of Education Left to Right: Mr. Destito, Mr. Roe, Mr. Bush, Mr. Wolf, President; Mr. Herbst, Mr. Edkins, Mrs. Pendorf.
