LARRY LENNON LIZ BOTTINI President i¥ A S H I S T O R Y Vice-President In an opera production, after the appearance of the conductor, whom we would like to consider as our ‘‘mad musician,’ the orchestra renders an overture, an introduction to our senior section. Our opera production of ‘Three Memorable Years”’ contains three acts. The first act was our sophomore year at R.F.A. The director of this produc- tion was Miss Katharine Clarke, our very faithful and energetic class advisor. Our class officers were the main actors: Larry Lennon, Liz Bottini, Monica Merola and Toni Belmont; president, vice-president, secretary and treasurer respectively. At Christmas time we held a homeroom door decora- tion contest, which was both a great success and the first we held at R.F.A. We shall never forget our dances, “Variety Hop’’ and ‘‘Autumn Leaves,”’ the ballet music of our opera. The second act of our opera was our junior year. The director, Miss Clarke, still continued as our class advisor and Miss Mae Austin assisted her. Our main actors remained the same: Larry, Liz, Monica and Toni. Of course, the highlight of our junior year was the Junior Prom, called ‘Japanese Paradise’’—with our authentic Japanese sign which read “beer and pretzels.” In January we chose our class ring and from then on we grew anxious, thinking of our nearing senior year. We finally reached our senior year and the last act of our production. Our new director was Miss Louise Kingsley. Under her able guidance we had a very suc- cessful and happy senior year. Miss Katharine Clarke aided Miss Kingsley in making our senior year even more successful and complete. With the exception of Rita Saurini, Secretary, the main actors were the same. The theatre bill then read: Larry Lennon, Presi- dent: Liz Bottini, Vice-President; Rita Saurini, Secre- tary; and Toni Belmont, Treasurer. Many conferences with college representatives, the Senior Ball, Moving Up Day, Baccalaureate, the Senior Banquet, Com- mencement and Alumni Night finished up our opera with a grand finale. Although these many school activities and studies consumed most of our thoughts and time, we could not keep from anticipating what life would hold for each one of us after our “Three Memorable Years” at Rome Free Academy.
