Levitan, school physician for forty years, has resigned. Dr. Levitan has served as medical director for the public and parochial school system since 1928, having en- tered the system as a part-time physician in January, 1917. He was instrumental in founding the State Association of School Physicians which he served as president in 1938. Dr. Levitan: We deeply regret your resignation. Please accept our thanks for your sincere in- terest in the school health pro- gram. Miss Luce, English teacher, has given her resignation after thirty-four years of service. Miss Luce has served Rome Free Academy since the spring of 1924. During this time, she has taught English to many students who will gratefully remember her. All who know Miss Luce regard her as a friend and ad- visor. Miss Luce: Your long service to Rome Free Academy has been deeply appreciated, and we regret your leaving us. Miss Owens, known by all students, past and present, of Rome Free Academy, has been a member of the clerical staff for thirty-two years. Miss Owens has served as clerical worker for Rome Free Academy since 1926, having entered the sys- tem in August of the same year when this school was first opened. Prior to this time, she held a position with the Rome Daily Sentinel. Miss Owens: Your long and out- standing service to Rome Free Academy will never be forgot- ten. We regret your resignation, and we know that t he students and faculty of Rome Free Academy will always remember you. To all of you: We all hope you will enjoy the new life which is beginning for you. 14
