We are honored to be your first graduating class here, and we deeply appreciate the many ways in which you have helped, and the friendly encouragement you have given us. In spite of present world conditions, We shall always look back upon our last year at Rome Free Academy as a very pleasant and profitable one, and we feel equally sure that this has been in a large measure due to your efforts to make it so. May Rome Free Academy, under your guidance, continue to be the proud institution that We shall hope it to be. '

Our Memories of George R. Staley In his forty-four years as superintendent of the Rome Public Schools, Mr. Staley has given us, the students, a treasure of pleasant memories. His friendliness and democratic attitude have given our school life an added meaning. His advice as a friend and his counsel as an educator have proved to be invaluable to us as individuals. He has shown enthusiasm in all our student activities and outside interests. His warmth and friendliness to each one of us has strengthened our deep admiration for him. Mr. Staley, We have been very fortunate to have been under your guidance during our school career. We will always remember your visits to our classrooms, although they were sometimes embarrassing, and we respect you for your interest in our work. Yet we will remem- ber also your gift for applying the right touch of humor when the occasion demanded it. It is with great regret that we bid you farewell. We also regret that the students of future years will not benefit by your friend- ship and wisdom.
