The gift was from Roy E. Crummer, a prominent businessman and former resident of Winter Park. Mr. Crummer ' s busi- ness career has been one of financial enterprise. Significantly, in the 1930 ' s he devoted his time and efforts to the rehabilitation of the public debt of Florida. When visiting the college. It is the product of the hard work of a number of students and of the interest and assistance of members of the faculty and administration. To these people go not only my personal thanks but the ap- preciation of everyone who ever reads this yearbook. Rollins tradition and culture are in- corporated into the Tomokan to make it a living memory of student college life, and it was therefore the aim of our staff to give you a cross section of our campus and thus assure you of the true meaning of Rollins College. It is you and your fellow s tudents that make up our fine institution, and I only hope that in years to come you may look upon this book, not only as a remembrance of a fine year at Rollins, but also as an index to the good times that we have shared. The work, the hard play, and the study must never be forgotten, and may we ever be reminded that skill is the result of forgotten toil. In closing let me again thank my staff, for it is only through their efforts and cooperation that you now hold the 1965 Tomokan.
