Labor Day......a vacation from school; much welcomed too, with the hot and humid weather we've been having. Band's annual trip to march and make merry in Chicago's River- view Park. . . .oh, those Roller Coasters! ! ! Crowded bus, tired skaters, blisters, happy memories of a gay evening at the first Junior Class skating party. Student Council Program. Another Junior Class skating party. . . .more fun, blisters, noise, and laughs. Volleyball, cider, sandwiches, dancing. . . .guess those Sophomores really enjoyed themselves at the Sophomore Class Party. Practice, tryouts, voting, the results. . . .why it's the cheerleader tryouts, with Doris, Delores, Kathleen, and Maggie chosen. Student Council Program. This year the grades 7 and 8 combined their classes and held a skating party. Busy day, busy day, last minute packing, hurried goodbyes, and the Seniors are off to Washington and the East. . . .the trip sponsored by the LaPorte Herald-Ar- gus. For the rest of the student body that the seniors left be- hind, there was a two day holiday while our teachers went to Teachers Associa- tion. Did I see Freshman and some Sophomore girls in diapers and carrying baby bottles? Of course, it's the G. A. A. Initiation Night. Members of the Senior Class dyeing their hair red?. . . .yes, they gave Cheaper by the Dozen as their Senior Class Play. Student Council Program Cheers, cheers, cheers. . . .Rolling won their first home game of the season against New Carlisle. The Mighty Bulldogs cinched another victory; this time they beat Wheatfield there. Freshman Class Party, tell us more ! ! The Juniors had a Class Party tonight. . . .mmmmm F.H.A. - F.H.A. Chili Sup- per with Three Oaks. V-I-C-T-O-R-Y . . . . that was the Bulldog Bark as we beat Union Twp. there for our third straight win. 38 Nov. 12 Nov. Nov. Nov. Nov. Dec. Dec. Dec. Dec. Dec. Dec. V-I-C-T-O-R-Y. . . .that was the Bulldog Bark as we beat Union Twp. there for our third straight win. 18 Awards. . . .speeches. . . .honors. . . .it's the 4-H Award Night. 23 Union Mills came to take home a defeat for their record, for our Bulldogs struck again. . . 25- 26 We gather together to ask the Lord's Blessings . . . .after an im- pressive program in the gym, school was dismissed for Thanksgiv- ing Vacation. 29 Paint brushes. . . .bar-b-ques. . . .the G. A. A. had a work night followed by a play night to which they invited the Mill Creek girls. Plans are well under way for decorating for the Christmas Formal. 3 Pep, coach, team, steam. . . .traveled to LaCrosse to capture an- other victory for R. P. H. S. 7 The Glee Club entertained the Lion's Club by singing several of the songs from their Christmas Program. 10 Westville came to conquer but the Bulldogs changed that when we beat them; the band put on a nice Christmas number between halves, forming a Christmas tree with flashlights while the Twirlers did a lighted baton routine. 14 Student Council Program. 14 Blue and White fight! fight!'. We beat North Liberty here. 17 We beat Clinton there for our ninth straight win. . . . 18 Snow. . . .cold. . . .formals. . . .flowers. . . .gym decorated like a Candyland with a Gingerbread house. . . .it's the G. A. A. Christ- mas Formal. Mary Alice reigned as Queen, with Carol and Lila as her attendants. 20 Bow ties. . . .black pants and shirts. . . .the Glee Club and Band combined for a Christmas Concert. 21 A new organization at R. P. H. S., the Latin Club, held installation and initiation followed by a Christmas Party. . . .Io Saturnalia! ! 22 Christmas carols. . . .teachers'quartette. . . .numbers by the Glee Club and band. . . .something new was added to the Holiday spirit this year--a Christmas program by the students and faculty. After- wards school was dismissed for the holidays. . . .wheeeee ! I Rolling took the Holiday Tourney at Union Mills. . . .another trophy for our new trophy case. 3 Tired and worn out after a glorious vacation, we came back to school. 4 Took another victory from St. Mary's on our home floor. 7 What a team. . . . took Kingsbury by storm on our home floor! That's thirteen straight now. . . . 11 Defeat came unexpectedly to our mighty Bulldogs;. . . .we fell by two points to Walkerton, there. 18 Our luck left us again, for New Carlisle beat us on their floor. 21 Both Mill Creek and Rolling traveled to the Civic Auditorium in LaPorte to play before a large crowd. They fought hard but our boys came back with their fighting spirit. Another victory for R. P. H. S............. 26- 27-28-29 The County Tourney at Michigan City. . . .after three rough games, meeting Mill Creek for the Championship, we came through as the County Champs. . . .we're mighty proud of our team! 4 Took Stillwell, there, for our eighteenth victory. 8 The Band and Glee Club held a skating party at the La Porte Casino. II No school because of bad roads. . . .but a large group showed up any- way with snow plows and working clothes. No, they weren't here to 39 study, for it was moving day for the high school students into our new $560,000 building. Everyone worked hard and we got a two day job done in one day! Feb. 18 Somehow our team was defeated by Wanatah on our floor. . . .that makes a 18-3 record to carry into the Sectional. We're with you boys. . . . Feb. 23-24-25-26 The Sectional at Michigan City. . . .we drew City to play the.first night. . . .City was too big for us and we lost 66-44. Feb. 28 Mar. 1-2 After winning their first three games in the Junior High basketball tourney they were defeated in the final game by Union Twp. 20-15. Mar. 7 At last the work is done on the annual. It was hard work but also a lot of fun. All we can do is hope that our future predictions come out right. Cheaper By the Dozen play cast party. 4-H Family Night. The Freshman are having another class party. Indiana High School Achievement Program regional in La Porte. More laughs, thrills and spills. . . .yes, it's another skating party sponsored by the band. Band and Choir Contest. State solo and ensemble contest. Several of our band members will be entered. The Latin Classes had their annual banquet served in Roman style with Mrs. Post as their sponsor. Spring Music Concert. Indiana High School Achievement Program State Contest. Today the Juniors will honor the Seniors by a dinner and formal dance. The Seniors went to a tea in their honor. Baccalaureate and the last day of school for the Seniors.
