Senior Tom Kostelny placed third in the State of Illinois Distributive Education Assocation contest. Gazk Enya ' ln previous years, RMHS has had a limited number of work programs, however this year the Practical Arts Department has expanded and rearranged. This year's Work Pro- grams include not only Cooperate Work Training KCWTJ, Distributive Education KDED, Home Economics Related Occupations KHEROJ, Office Education COEJ, but also Diversified and Industrial Cooperative Education CD-ICED. CWT trains students in blue collar jobs such as dish-washers and gas station attendants, whereas DE aims to prepare students in white collar jobs such as technical engineers. DE also Anne Rosso practices to improve her typing skills. Debbie Koeppen provides students with a background in marketing and distribution. The HERO program focuses on the food and clothing industry, child care, and interior design. OE is designed to strengthen skills in typing, bookkeep- ing, and accounting. Students have the opportunity to compete, in typing and filing contests, with the seven other schools in district 214. The new program, D-ICE, helps students to acquire skills in industrial areas such as auto mechanics as well as professional skills in dentistry. By enrolling in these work programs, students earn credits and gain experience in the working world. HOME ECONOMICS RELATED OCCUPA- rloNs: sifting-T. Brown, K. Molinari, K. DiPiero, 1. Meyer, D.
