' ls' .fr is a Q93 TRB K TEAM WANTED: Individuals willing to work towards the Mid-Suburan League KMSLJ outdoor track championship. The people who answered this ad made-up the Rolling Meadows Varsity Track Team. With individuals like senior Rick Sutton, who won both the 100 and 220 yard dashes in record times and Tom Choice, who set a new school record while winning the ifz mile run, the Mustangs had a good start towards winning the Conference Championship. Two relay teams also won 1st place awards. The 440 yard team of Dave Boursaw, Bill Kasper, Pete Till, and Rick Sutton won their event with a state-ranked MSL record. The 1 mile relay team of Pete Till, Fred Kocian, Rick Sutton, and Ed Roels ran the meet's last event. These 2 teams added valuable points to a team total of 63-just 7 points short of victory and the championship. Beaten by a deeper and healthier team from Fremd, the Mustangs nevertheless gave Meadows its greatest track performance ever. The Mustangs were also highly competitive in the District meet, with the mile relay team of Pete Till, Fred Kocain, Dave Boursaw, and Rich Sutton coming in first in the 18 team field. Six proud Mustangs qualified for the state meet. Other varsity standouts this year included Scott Jennings in the shotput, jeff Schrock in the high jump, and Dave Campbell in the distance races. Highlights of this magnificant season included winning 3 major outdoor meets and placing second or third in 3 other major meets.
