Outstanding performances were produced by Mike Meyer, state still rings qualifier, Mike Illing- worth placed third in conference on floor exercise, first in district, tied for third in sectionals and placed third in the state meet, and Glenn johnson placed fourth in conference, first in district and sectionals, and third in state with an 8.55 score on trampoline. Carolyn Devine swung into second place on the compulsory bars and Connie Weber also mounted a second on the compulsory beam. Three girls qualified on the District for the first IHSA girls state gymnastics meet. junior Diane Scrivner and Freshman Carolyn Devine qualified on the beam. Sophomore Laura Bierut qualified on the bars.
