H8588 APTH85 THREE INVITATIBUALS Outstanding runner, Tom Choice returned for his senior year, guiding the Mustangs to a successful season. The team won three in- vitational championships - Barrington, Rolling Meadows and jacksonville. Held in great respect by competitors, coaches and teammates, Tom Choice took a first at the Rolling Meadows invitational, a third at Barrington, he then finished second in first flight at jacksonville and held seventh and thirteenth place in the district and sectional meets. Close on Tom's heels, teammate Fred Ko- cian '77, gained a fourth at the Rolling Meadows invitational and took first place in se- cond flight at jacksonville. As a result of Tom and Fred's work and with the help of their industrious teammates, the Mustangs were able to take a fourth at dis- tricts and tenth place at sectionals. The varsity team volleyed for a third place in districts and a fifth place in conference. The team gathered in 9 wins and 3 losses by the time all the matches had been played. Competing at first singles, senior Barb Gallo gained 9 wins and 6 losses while senior Kris Krueger had 10 wins and 5 losses playing second singles. Outstanding juniors jenny Jimenez and Cindy Keagle went to work at the Conference meet, capturing a second place in the first doubles competition. I NA Although girls cross-country is not a big team sport in this area, the Mustang girls cross-country team has proved itself a formidable opponent: the girls were the champions of the Rolling Meadows Invitational in which julie Jacobs took third place, followed by Michelle Nesti in seventh, Barb Nelson in tenth, Sharon Bradley in eleventh, and Michele Ambrose in twelfth place.
