Tits: Mg few if MCQCUS The Romedra Players exhibited one of the most lavish, musical productions since Camelot, instead lesss of the mystical land of Camelot, the players transported the audience to Siam, to bringythe King and I . l The King, Dennis 'Nykiel, was an outstanding powerful force behind the Kingdom Of Siam. Both his brash. and soft sides were illuminated through Rodgers and Hammerstein's music. Another outstanding performer was lim Sullivan, his rich melodious voice added pleasure to the performance, lim's vocal duets were not the only brilliant facets in the production. The march of Siamese children and the ballet of Uncle Tom's Cabin stood out for their uniqueness. Among the cast were sprinkled small children who made the march humorous and effective. The ballet of Uncle Thomas' Cabin featured Meg Heinz as Eliza, Scott Willroth as her lover George, and Tom Waldron as Uncle Thomas. This ballet highlighted the show while it also referred to the lover's conflicts in the story the King and I . C This glitzzy production cost the Romedra Players 54000, costumes represented half of that figure. The money, time, love, and diligent work put into the show were well worth the standing ovations they received.
