The multi-talented . . . . . . Ron Palillo. Ready to question Horshack Tom Colangelo and fellow theatre jocks Don Dempsey fleftl and Bill Casurella Crightl, listen intently. RD moiQ3isaeK Danirttto N R P3 turns n CPISEHTRE Jocks What do you call students who love acting? theatre jocks -at least that's what Ron Horshack Palillo calls 'em. And Ron came to spend two hours rapping with Meadows' own Htheatre jocks . Ron began by explaining how he got started in acting. Because his interest in acting was so great, at fourteen he organized his own theatre group. He furthered his experience while attending the University of Connecticut. It was there that he was trained by Dr. Nafe Katter to be a Shakespearean actor. To get where he is now, Ron assured the students was not an easy experience. Being in the right place at the right time is half the battle in the fight for success. He is now a well known star on ABC's Welcome Back Kotterf' The famous Arnold Horshack laugh has monopolized the family rooms of many American homes. Arnold is a character of his own, a first in classroom comedy. Although it may seem difficult to visualize Ron Palillo as anything but a Sweathog he is a gifted dramatic actor. As RMHS's theatre director, Ronald Raben commented, Ron showed the students a completely different side of himselfp they were able to see how talented he really is. He is a very unique celebrity, and definitely a multi-talented man. He displayed the many facets of his talent by performing excerpts from the different periods of theatre. First he was Shakespeare's King Richard. Next he was johnathon in the play Oh Dad Poor Dad, Mother's Locked Herself In The Closet And l'm So Sad. As a finale Ron assumed the role of Tom in The Glass Menagerie . ln this monologue Tom fantasizes about his tearful goodbye to his sister Laura. The last two words of the monologue are goodbye Laura . With that Ron Palillo turned to the applauding audience and said goodbye .
