Multi-dextrous? Counselors Are Communications?. . .improved. No more running back and forth, as all counseling was handled from the Silver Spur office. The new senior room housed helpful information: college books, college catalogues and scholarship statistics. For frantic college- bound seniors, this room was a second home. Just counseling? There's more to it. Our counselors were assigned extra-curricular jobs-Mrs. Medved was in charge of scholarships. A liaison with Southern California Regional Occupational Center, Mr. Thorne guided those interested in military careers. Visits from college representatives were planned and attended by Mr. Hardesty. Checking on the success of RHHS, Mr. Heck followed up graduated students. Mr. Ryan was disguised under the colorful title, computor coordinator.' Advising students' personal problems, Mrs. Speight scheduled psychologists for special education. An expert on DAT, PSAT, NMSQT and other initials, Mrs. Gregor was in charge of testing. And Mr. Rice was the beloved senior sponsor who also worked with sophomore testing. A vital part of the campus life, counselors provided helpful guidance, friendly conversation, and interest in our welfare. 1 6:24 , DIANA WILKE listens as Mrs. J. Staffs Provide Campus Niceties A crew of custodians and one matron clean, repair and pick up a mountainside of dishes on the Hawthorne side, doing the things we're too lazy to do. Thirteen secretaries feed the computers, send transcripts and hassle with attendance. An army of cafeteria women nourish the masses according to nutrition standards set by the government. Five groundsmen keep Senior Park a little greener, mark off the football field and rake the leaves. What would we do without them? Drown with a muffled cough in chaos. Classified Staff 27
