MR. JON KNICKERBOCKER-B.A., M.A., Cal. State Long Beach: Western Association of Schools and Colleges Accreditation. Passes come in two varieties-optimistic ones that send you off to the nurse to cure your jungle rot, and pessimistic passes that send you to Mr. Douglas Noble to explain your last five tardies. Besides being chronic pass-senders, student service advisors provided guidance in many areas. A positive approach to detention? A compulsory study hall, directed by Mr. Noble, quickly acquainted students with the virtue of promptness. Heading the work experience program, Mrs. .lean Etter allowed seniors to observe or participate in the labor force. Attending student council, helping organizations in trouble, and acting as everyone's scapegoat, Mrs, Rosemary Claire directed student activities. She was probably the only person on campus who really knew what was happening. A liaison between WASC and RHHS, Mr. .lon Knickerbocker survived an onslaught of paper work in the form of polls, letters and evaluations. Traveling over forty miles a day to visit four students, Mrs. Beverly Peterson, the home teacher, instructed those bed-ridden. Nurse Ruth Hopkins busily excused sick students, administered hearing and vision tests and handled health emergencies. Some day she may find time to cure those of us who are allergic to trigonometry. Guided by Mrs. Nancy Pappas, the library expanded in several new directions. Not only does it have 15,000 new books, it has added art slides, films, recordings. . . but then some of us only go to the library on that twenty-fifth overdue notice. Student Services

Staffs Provide Campus Niceties A crew of custodians and one matron clean, repair and pick up a mountainside of dishes on the Hawthorne side, doing the things we're too lazy to do. Thirteen secretaries feed the computers, send transcripts and hassle with attendance. An army of cafeteria women nourish the masses according to nutrition standards set by the government. Five groundsmen keep Senior Park a little greener, mark off the football field and rake the leaves. What would we do without them? Drown with a muffled cough in chaos. Classified Staff 27
