oods Hopes To Put Facts To ork The age old cliche'of the district admini- stration is change, but in a district whose population is increasing 1000 students a year, we must admit things are changing. Change is also the trademark of our so- ciety. To ready Peninsula students for their society, Superintendent of Schools Thomas E. Woods directed revisions at the district level. One basic revision was in the social studies department which directed itself toward stimulating student interest in cur- rent issues and solving modern problems. Flexible scheduling almost had its swan song last year, but the new back-to-back program, a combination of math and sci- ence, attempted to keep the principle alive. The big problem with flexible scheduling was the inexperience of pupils, teachers and administrators. An important addition was the opening of several new schools, including Miraleste High School, to alleviate crowded conditions. Under able administrative direction, Rolling Hills High School and the rest of the Peninsula schools should be able to face changes in our society, adapting to them with changes in our schools. fi i MR.
