SENIOR CLASS HISTORY 1941...that year two great wars began. One lasted for five years and was fought by men and guns. The other lasted for eight years and was fought by children and words. In this year the mighty class of '53 was formed. Half of this class was found within the walls of the East Elementary and the other half in the West Elementary. This was the cause of the war of which I speak. If by some unfortunate chance, two people from enemy schools met, hair would fly. ''You're from East Elementary? You poor child! Is it actually as bad as they say? I hear they beat you every morning.'' You're from West Elementary? I'm sorry, but I will be banned if I associate with you. Thus it continued for six happy years. In spite of conflicts, the class was finally united in Junior High School. Here the conflict continued but was somewhat lessened by the excitement of a new school. After two years of unforgetable times in Junior High, we were ready for a try at High School Life. So we entered the dear old alma mater.' We were here and everyone knew it. Who do those big Juniors and Seniors think they are anyway? Well show them, and we did. We elected our candidate, Mary Gay Hornkohl, Homecoming Queen. Boy, were they surprised! Not only did we do this, but we also copped second place in Amateur Nite with our songs, comedy, and dances. Our president for this triumphant year was Janet Marsden. We elected Fred Fuerst to lead us during our second year. Our candidate for Homecoming Queen that year was Mary Jane Logan, a new addition to our class. In our busy junior year Clifford Feeler was our able class president. Our Junior play, entitled, Love is too Much Trouble,” was a huge success. We elected Janet Ballard our candidate for Homecoming Queen. Mary Gay Hornkohl was Growler Queen that year. . In our last year at RHS, Bob Fuller was our class president. Dons Jean Mitchell was our candidate for Homecoming Queen. We came in second in the float contest for the second year. The Pep Squad chose Lucille Reynolds Snow Ball Queen for 1952. When we said we were members of the class of 53 it seemed a long wav Now it is upon us-that long-awaited graduation. We are still members of that class of '53 and are proud of it!
