611155 J-fzslrfry One September mornrng rn 1945 Mrss Bateson was greeted by a group of brrght eyed frrst graders Thrs was the launchtng of what now lS our somewhat modrfred Rolla Hrgh School graduatrng class of 1957 Of thrs orrgrnal group, ten have remarned They are Dyanne Dtsrud, Gordon Drsrud, Albeet Ferns, Harvey Jackson, Wmona Jeanotte, Rosalre Juntunen, Rolfe Sobolrk, Dannv Wayne, and Gerry Wrlkre We were soon promoted to the second grade where our teacher was Mrss Nelson After puttrng up a courageous battle we managed to advance to the thrrd grade berng taught by Mrss Jolrffe Added to our class at thrs ttme were Tommy Haggar and Agnes Lentz Mrss Olson was our fourth grade teacher Wrnona Jeanotte left us at thrs pornt, only to return rn 1957 The frfth grade and Mrs Brown were very rnterestrng In add1t1on we had an art class taught by Mrs Graham Lots Butts Jotned us towards the end of the year Mrs Marchand was our sucth grade teacher A llttle effort soon led us upstatrs to Mrs Berg and the seventh grade From here we gazed wrstfully rnto the hrgh school, where we would be rn two short years ln the erghth grade we were under the expert gutdance of Mrs Herd We were met by B111 Lrpp Gay lene Jeanotte who left at the end of thrs year and Jorned us rn the twelfth grade Doreen MacDonald Larry Hemmrng, and Drck Dahl who left us and returned as a sophomore and a senror We looked forward to erghth grade graduatron, rememberrng our many experrences rn programs operettas, the Y C L , as well as the knowledge we should have garned As hrgh school freshmen we were Jorned by Jrm Vandal, Jerry McCloud, Jerry Savolaja, Ron MacKay and Ray Mrckleson It wasn t untrl 1n1t1at1on that we recerved the attentron we thought was rrghtfully ours As sophomores we began drrectrng our thoughts toward sound methods of rarsrng suffrcrent funds to cover the Prom and Banquet put on by us the followrng year Our Junror year proved to be our busrest Besldes havrng Ernre Cote, Shrrley Jeanotte, and Dorothy Brennan added to our class we were greeted by an almost entrrely new faculty Our most successful money rarstng venture was the class play entrtled BOARDING HOUSE REACH We frnally staged the Prom and Banquet Our theme was Moonhght and Roses At last we re semors twenty f1ve strong The class play, FOR POP S SAKE proved to be a great success As gradu ton nears, we realrze how much we really benefrted from school, or at least could have Remembeung our motto Wrth the Ropes of the Past We wrll Rrng the Bells of the Future we enter the world wrth hrgh hopes and ambrtrons a o Q , .
