Arriving in Hawaii after dark they heard music coming from the beach, Approaching they saw sorne girls dancing, and who should be sitting in the rniddle of the ring but. . .you guessed it, Dwight: After the dance Dwight noticed Bob and Cody and went over to talk to them. Dwight said he had chosen one of the girls to be his wife but is seems he was having a tirne trying to think up excuses to escape a dozen other girls. Dwight invited Bob and Cody to spend the night with him which they accepted very gratefully as they were both very tired. Next morning they headed for Alaska so Cody could get back to the mine as he was ve ry anxious to get to work. Bob was then on his way for Roll. He stopped in Illinois for dinner. The restaurant he chose was only a block from the University of Illinois. While eating Bob overheard several of the students from the University discussing their studies. Upon hearing the name of Professor Blaisdell mentioned he wondered it it could be the Bill Blaisdell he had in his class of '52 Bob wandered down to the University just to browse around and who should he bump into but the Professor himself? This man was once the boy he had had in school. Since Bill had a few minutes to spare before classes they sat down to talk. Bill said he had married and was a proud father of four daughters However their visit was cut short because it seemed Professor Blaisdell was wanted by the President of the University. So Bob once more climbed aboard his plane, this time heading for home as his trip was complete and he was quite anxious to get back to his first grandchild. And as you know. . .all good things must come to an end sooner or later. 14

nearing them, Bob heard loud voices. It seems they were arguing whose cows were whose because, true to their name they were too lazy to brand their 3,000 cattle and 1,000 horses, as they didn't think they would stray off of the 4,999 acre ranch. Seeing they had a visitor the arguing ceased, and recognizing who it was, they gave him a very hearty welcome. While talking to him they said, Maybe we get our cattle mixed, but we can keep the 17 kids separated by the color of their hair and the size of their ears. Hearing hoof beats they noticed a little red-headed boy coming toward them to announce supper. After enjoying the evening with Tom and Art, Bob went to spend the night with Bob Gavin. Next morning after bidding them adieu, Bob headed for Arizona because he learned from the boys that Diamond Cook was in the oil well business here. After some difficulty he located Diamond shouting with joy as he had just struck an oil vein, Diamond was very glad to see his former teacher and had a nice visit with him. However he had to get to work on his new well so Bob hurried on. Bob had once heard of a C. V. Kellogg Gun Factory in Ontario, Canada and wondered if it could be the Charles Kellogg he had in school back in '52, Since Bob had the time and was also very curious about this name, he decided it wouldn't hurt anything to fly up there and see, It was noon when Bob was over the state of Montana and he decided he would eat now and then fly on to Canada. He landed and went into town to a restaurant. Leaving the restaurant Bob saw a lady coming out of a Department Store who he thought looked familiar. It was none other than Wilma Sharp and daughter: Talking to Wilma for a few minutes he learned that she and Franklin had a ranch here in Montana and were raising beef cattle which they bought soon after Franklin graduated. They were very happy here with their three children. SO after telling Wilma the good news of his being grand- father, and bidding her goodbye, Bob went on his way to Ontario, The workers were leaving the factory when Bob arrived, One of the workers spoke to Bob and he ask the worker who owned the factory. Upon hearing that it was Charles Kellogg Bob asked if he knew whether Mr. Kellogg had come from Indiana and the man said he did and told Bob where he could find Charles, Entering the office Bob saw Charles sitting behind a desk with his feet propped upon it. Charles was quite surprised and happy to see Bob and they had a nice visit. Bob learned from Charles that Dwight Mclntire was over in Hawaii. So saying goodby to Charles, Bob headed for Hawaii, While passing over Alaska Bob noticed some gold mines and since he had always wanted to see how they mined gold, he decided he had time to stop. As he approached, a truck loaded with gold was just leaving and who Should be behind the wheel but Cody Cook? Cody had his own trucking firm and hauled the gold from the mines to the near-by cities. He was just ready to start on a trip and invited Bob to make the trip with him, so Bob accepted. They had quite an enjoyable visit. When Bob told Cody that he was going to Hawaii to see Dwight, Cody asked to go along and Bob said he would be glad for the company. Returning to the mine, they went to Bob's plane and headed for Hawaii. 13
