THE RANGER Presented by Seniors of 1966-67 Poland High School We Salute Our Superintendent, Mr. James E. Humphrey He is a genial, versatile, talented, and dedicated person who has devoted more than forty years to the education of our youth, most of which have been in his native Se- quoyah County. He has spent' much time training young people in the field of music, as well as directing his church choirs for thirty years, and the Masonic Choir at Fort Smith twice a year for the Masonic reunions. He holds the Knight Commander of Court of Honor an honorary degree in the Scottish Rite division of the Masonic order; has been president of Cookson Hill Rural Electric Co-operative for the past twenty years; and has been a member of the Board of Directors of KAMO, a transmission co-operative, for seventeen years. He has the distinction of being selected to Who’s Who in American Education the last two successive years (1964-65 and 1965-66). Mr. Humphrey was a member of Oklahoma Commission of Teachers Education and Certification 1956-60. He is co-author of various curriculum guide books published by the State Board of Ed- ucation, and co-author with two university professors of the Hand Book of State Parks and Adjacent Areas published by he Oklahoma Geological Survey. They completed the basic sewing course in their sopho- more year. History These students are learning the geographical position of various countries to better un- derstand the effects location can have on the origins of their culture.
