S?5 The Ranger 1960-1961 Presentation RANGER STAFF With pleasure we present this yearbook to the community and students. Without their constant help and encouragement this record of the past two school years would have been impossible. This book is the reality of a dream, a dream in which we envisioned the school as a two-fold project of the community, which supplies the buildings and administration, the board of education and faculty; and of the school itself which provides education in the classroom, and develops character, personality, and leadership by sports, clubs, and other student activities. EUGENE WOOD Vice-President Board of Education HASTINGS YOUNGER President With unselfish service and loyalty to duty these men serve their community in administering the school. They work in close co- operation with the super- intendent and faculty. Each man is elected by the community for a five-year term. Oklahoma February 9 1961 )i ANNUAL SThFF, SENIORS, AND OTHER STUDENTS Something unusual has been happening In Roland School the last few years—the Increasing Intensity of this phenomenon Is more and more visible. Your parents, your Board of Education, and your faculty members are quietly but yet deeply pleased with this thing that Is happening. The phenomenon—more and more of you are having (subtly and quietly) Ignited in your soul a passionate desire to be SOMEBCDY. To be socebody who can do well by yourself and others who will depend upon you—somebody who will be able to cake a worthy contrloutlon to your lor.edlate community, to your nation, and to all humanity. More and more of you are applying yourselves to hard work, but not that alone—hard work In a sensible manner. It Is heartwarming to see the hard work and sensible enthusiasm Joined with every day good citizenship and thoughtfulness of others becoming more and more dominant In your lives. M e are happy for this transformation which Is taking place In more and more of you, and we know that it will result In a more genuine happiness to yourselves and others who trust you. You seniors have been an unusually warm and genial group, and wo expect to see your community In particular and humanity In general greatly enriched by your magic Influence. it wishes to you all, Tames Humphre hAR.
