Text from Pages 1 - 140 of the 1957 volume:

Just as 1957 is the semi-centennial of our great state of Oklahoma, it also marks the fiftieth anniver- sary of Roland School. The span from teepees to towers is a vivid memory in the minds of many of our townspeople. Our school has grown from a one-teacher school to a plant of four buildings end twenty-two employees. As seniors we are a part of the development of our school and the state of Oklahoma, and sre proud to present this story of 195 -57 in Poland School. CHRISTENE VAUGHAN To Chriatene, smiling and democratic, always the champion of the underdog, our classmate who lives on in our memories even though she has gone from out our bourne of time and place , we, the Senior Class of 1957, reverently dedicate our book. MR. HUMPHREY 1907 Dear Class Members of 57 As surely as the sunset of todsy or the sunrise of tomorrow—Life is a series of compensating events. God, In his infinite wisdom, sets the pattern for all things in the universe. If we respect others, we will be respected; if we are tolerant with others, tolerance will return to us; if we are just in our dealings with others, justice will be our mete; conversely, every transgression carries a correspond- ing retribution. Therefore, if you give to the world the best you have, surely the be3t .vill cone back to you James Humphrey FACULTY Jennings Harrell High School Principal Drivers Training Louise Humphrey Home Economics Grade School A-H Club Mildred Smalley English High School A-H Club E.
