Pu.7;w.T e tax of ou. We, the students of Rogue River High School, wish to dedicate the 1961-62 Annual to Jerry Peters, Class of 1961, whose untimely death has left an-aching void in our midst. Jerry was m excellant student, and an accomplished actor and speaker, who entertained us aVmany assemblies. More important were his qualities of loyalty, generosity, and genuine friendship which will be long remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. I wish to congratulate the advisor and staff of this annual for a fine piece of work. I am certain that in later years, all of us will receive great pleasure in looking through this book and recollecting the friends and happenings of this year of 1961-62. I hope that in all the problems which beset each of you, as you go on into life, you will be able to exert a similar amount of effort, and that the results will be as this year book has been. Moreover, our student council had the good fortune of attending a Student Council Convention at Klamath Falls, and judging from the reports of those present they had a pretty interesting time. This month also marked a most glorious occasion—what else, the beginning of school! Old Faithful 40 Bugologlsts at work I thought I had him ! and as school progressed, we found our classes engaged in numerous activities...... also the three month vacant parking lot is once again filled. 41 Surprised Queen Lois Willson and escort Mike O'Day. Any Budy see my gun The much delayed Sno-Ball ended as a semi-formal sock-hop, and the senior candidates Helen Henderson and Russ Macfarlane were crowned queen and king as they reigned over the entire affair. • . f , fl ' tV PRINCESS CLAUDIA PRINCE FRANK QUEEN HELEN KING RUSS PRINCESS CAROL PRINCE JACK PRINCESS CHRIS PRINCE ALAN 47 January was full of all sorts of interesting activities. The chieftain basketball squad was in the middle of their season, and the winter weather made itself known by depositing white stuff deep enough to fill your shoes but not enough to give us a few days vacation. PRINCESS SUSAN PRINCE BYRON OT SHOWN 50 For the first time at Rogue High School there was initiated a girls1 bowling league which proved to be a most enjoyable event for those participating. A good time was had by all as they participated in events which ranged from roller coster rides to go-cart races. Sayonara was the theme for the annual Junior Senior Prom held at the Rogue Valley Country Club. Highlight of the evening was when Jeanne Allison was crowned Prom Queen. A successful Prom is attributed to the class of '63. As the seniors walked down the halls for the last time thinking about their past experiences and good ole Rogue River High School, they are about to forsee new horizons opening and sorrow because some of the best years of their lives were spent there, our feelings being shown by smiles on our lips and tears in our eyes.
