The outstanding event of the year for this class was the Junior-Senior Prom and Banquet with its elaborate decorations. It was a night to remember, and the class gives the juniors a heartfelt thanks. Another outstanding event was the skip-trip to Newport and other parts of the coast. This year the senior class is proud of the number of activity royalties they captured, winning every time except for the M. O. D. campaign. Barbara LeRoy was queen of Homecoming with her escort Ron LeMaster; Queen Barbara Jackson and King Dennis Allison reigned at the Sno-Ball; and Queen Jean Robertson and King Harry McCabe were Sweetheart Ball royalty. The senior class was the first class to get their trash barrel decorated in the campaign to keep the school grounds clean. With striping, too! This included the consolation championship of the Rogue League Classic, a Christmas holiday tournament. Just after the beginning of league play, several players had to be dropped for training rule infractions. However, their replacements stepped in and the team played some of its best ball in the last half of the season. Leading scorers were Barry Frantz, Jeff LeRoy, and Jerry Kite. Able support was given by Steve Simer, Phil Archer, Terry Gail, and Gerry VanDorn. Dennis Allison, the only senior, and Budy Olympius rounded out a squad which is expected to develop into a winner next year. Player Ht. BASKETBALL The Rogue River JV's had their most successful season in a number of years with 9 wins and 7 losses. They were a more mature team consisting of sophomores and juniors doing some duty with the varsity. A number of the boys should be of help to Coach Bowman's Varsity next year. The purpose was to give the younger toys the chance to play and obtain the experience that they would not otherwise have received. Even though they did not win many ball games, the boys showed steady improvement as the season progressed. Most of the games were lost because of lack of experience and they were usually outnumbered against the larger schools. Also at the beginning of the season they were handicapped because they only had one boy who was scoring any points. Towards the end of the season several other boys were scoring, also making it more of a team effort. Much credit should be given to the boys who turned out regularly since most of the practices were at night. In addition several boys had long distances to travel. Although the boys only won 2 games, they started each game with the desire to win. Several games were close, particularly towards the end of the season.
