When the class of '56 leave the halls of Rogue River High for the last time, there will be tears in many eyes with memories of four wonderful years. We look back to, when as freshmen, our gay initiation. As sophomores we believed it great fun building the Homecoming Bonfire. Ana then as juniors, we knew the final step of the ladder this year would be the decoration for the annual Junior-Senior Prom. And also the farewell to that year's Senior Class, who had been our school mates for so very long. The first attempt as seniors was to place our confidence in Gary Phillips, President; Loy Towse, Vice-President; Katie Herburger, Secretary; and Nancy Bradley, Treasurer. Sponsoring dances after many games, cake auctions, selling Christmas cards, and basketball season tickets, and being the honored guests at the annual Junior-Senior Prom and our Senior Skip Trip, highlights this year. JUNIOR HOMEROOM JUNIOR The Junior Class, sponsors of the Junior-Senior Prom of May 5, presented a Homecoming Dance and Chili Feed In October to raise money for the Prom. The juniors sponsored many Soc-Hops after games and finally they had the financial status for the Prom. We hope the seniors enjoyed the Prom very much, as we did our best to make it a success. Allen, Bob y Byrns, Danny Elledge, Larry McCartney, Karen 17 Malone, Joann WUson, Bob 18 Thayer, Marcia Glenda Stinchcomb, Vice-President; Freddie Hopper, President; Carol Weaver. The sophomores started off the year by having the freshmen put on a skit in honor of the sophomores. This activity took the place of the regular initiation. Then the sophomores and freshmen concluded the initiation by attending a movie in Grants Pass. The sophomores worked very hard on the homecoming by doing all the advertising. We sponsored two dances after the basketball games. We had a swimming party and hay-ride in the latter part of the year. We then concluded the year by all going to the show. The class started the year by putting on a skit for the sophomores, which took the place of the regular initiation. As usual the freshmen built the bonfire for the homecoming. This year is the first year it has been burned at the scheduled time. We are very proud of the fact that two of our freshmen boys lettered in football. They were Bill Dixon and Jon Bigman. Our class had two Soc-hops; one after a basketball game and the other after a chili feed which was sponsored by the juniors. Both dances were quite successful. All in all, our first year in high school has been lots of fun. : RLSHV.AN HOMEROOM Anderson, Don Bowers, Lewis Dow, Wayne Horn, Lawra Martin, Lawrence Meier, Gary McCray, Jack Milton, Madlyn Olympius, Richard Moore, Gary Pebworth, Jimmy Owen, Loeta 24 Jones, Bob Lanham, Gary Morrow, Bill Plowman, Janice Smith, Beverley Thayer, Nancy Wilcox, Denese Savage, Phillip Stinson, Maxine 25 ; i|.i i|!1 LETTERMEN | I! l| II I .,., Illllliiilmii) II i, !h FRONT ROW (Left to Right): C.
