The Rogue River High School Band is a very active organization taking part in practically all school programs. In addition to playing at both the Junior and Senior plays they turned out in uniform for football and basketball games. After going to Medford to play for the county B basketball tournament and to Central Point to furnish music for the District playoff, they finished the sport season by treking across the state to play at the state tournament in Union, Oregon. Representatives of the band participated in the massed band at Southern Oregon Music Festival in Medford. Several of the bandsmen were organized into a swing band, the ''Star-lighters'', which played for school and community dances. On March 29th Gene Davison and Mrs. Westerfield attended the Music Educators' Northwest Conference in Portland where Gene was a member of the All-Northwest Band of 250 players from five western states. The band finished the year polishing up their numbers for the Spring Concert on April 29th and Commencement.
