SERVING 0Ull GIIVERNMENT AT WAR HROUGHOUT the year Will Rogers has done much toward the War effort. The Red Cross came through with 35393.16 which was contributed to the drive in March. Many articles were made and given to the Naval Hospital and sent to the Red Cross. Hot water bottle holders, holiday cards, bed socks, U.S.O. serapbooks and ash trays were contributed. Twenty Scrapbooks are already finished and 12 more are being made to be sent to the Red Cross for distri- bution to hospitals and recreation centers. Rond sales have been a great success. A total of 376,694.00 was invested in war bonds and stamps from the beginning of the school year up to April 25th. The Auction in which oxer 95000.00 worth of bonds were sold was one of the main attractions of tht- year. Articles brought by c-o-op- erating students were auctioned to raise the money. Approximately 50 packages containing such items as shaving l 0 t i on. toothpaste. 1-ribbage boards, stationery and razor blades were constructed for Christmas. The students of Will Rogers collected about eight tons of pa- per and sold it for ninety dollars. This money was added to the Will Rogers student body fund.
