We cannot know the why. All we know is that at the Senior Breakfast table one well- remembered laugh will not ring with ours, diiI if an echo of what might have been. One tall figure will not march down the aisle in June; one blond head will not bow with ours at Baccalaureate. But painful as death is, how much better it is to have had a short time to love, laugh, and cry, to know the wild thrill of just being alive, than never to have lived at all. twenty-six
