THE TREASURE CHEST IUNE, 1938 C Paying' one last tribute to their Alma Mater, the January graduating class presented the play, VVhy .lohn R. Rogers? January 27. 'l'he character of John Rankin Rogers was played by Glenden Hobbs. Forever in the minds of the students of Rmmers will remain the memory of the man who did So much for the lesser privileged children of Wasllingtmwn. The scene The Little Red School House was typical of what occurred in the schools of Rogers' time. Enacted in true political style was the legislative scene during which the famous Bare-foot Boy bill was passed. Under the supervision of Ray G. Hubbard, the play was written and pro- duced by the special English class. Dr. Frederick liischer of the school board presented the diplomas. 8'14- - Page twenty
