ROBERT S. ROGERS In the dedication of our year- book we honor the memory of Robert Standish Rogers-the man whose great dream for his community came true. It was in 1938 when he was elected to the Adams Township School Board and with him came his idea for a high school. He felt the great need for this institution not only for the convenience of the town- ship students but as a means of bringing greater unity of the en- tire area comprising Adams Township. However, when the first high school bond issue was put to a vote in November, 1938, less than half the township voted with him, and no other member of the school board agreed with him. Not stopped by this-setback, he kept talking about and fight- ing for this dream until his death in 1944. We, the students of to- day and those of tomorrow, are reaping the reward of Robert S. Rogers, gallant fight for a high school for our community. Thus, the first Rogerian is gratefully dedicated to the memory of Mr. Robert Standish Rogers. 4
