Michigan City: A town on the move Today's impulse is to dispense with the old and bring in the new. Michigan City followed this pattern. For a small town, it already had a lot to offer-approximately 80 restaurants, 4 movie theaters, 3 playhouses, 2 bowling alleys, a skating rink, YMCA, 200 and access to the Dunes State Park and National Lakeshore.
