Honors Choir Sings Their Hearts Out The 1978-79 Honors Choir, led by Miss Sharon Lewis, sang in many concerts, including the Fall Festiva of Choirs, Pops Festival, and several mini-concerts. Also attending the Southwestern Michigan Vocal Festi- val, the Honors Choir was repre- sented by two members, Penny Mann and Dan Merriott, in the 100- voice choir. The Honors Choir par- ticipated in a May Spring Concert and a Trade Concert with Grant High School Tra-la-la-la-la A solo makes me nervous.

Ethnic Dinner Highlights Year The Psychology Club, meeting one Thursday of each month at Mrs. Cantor ' s house, was involved in many interesting projects this year, one of which was an ethnic Christmas. Each member was requested to bring one dinner common to his heritage. The meal, consisting of Cuban, Jewish, Dutch, Vietnamese, and other dishes, was delicious and enjoyed by all. Out- standing members included Pam Gioia, Kim Raible, Joanna Clark, Anne Noseworthy, Janice Kerkstra, Mario Leon, Dawn Proper. Big Snow Aids Skiers The 1978-79 Ski Club had a fabu- lous year and enjoyed the best snow in six years. In addition to skiing every Thursday, they put to use the new facilities, including the downhill races. They also journeyed to Caber- fae with Wyoming Park, Jackson, and Newhall. According to Mr. Walker, the advisor of the Ski Club, the biggest accomplishment was the fact that there were no broken bones.

Concert Choir Has Busy Year This year ' s Concert Choir, as well as studying vocal technique and learning to read music, performed magnificently in several concerts and took a trip to Kalamazoo to see the The Wiz . In addition to their annual concerts and mini-concerts, he Concert Choir attended the Southwestern Michigan Vocal Festi- val where two members, Darlene Yarrington and Hank VanRanden, were chosen to sing in a special 100- voice choir. Girls ' Quintet Arrives With a Fresh New Sound The Girls ' Quintet consisted of five girls — Val Brix, Brenda Horan, Carl Peterson, Jerre Smith, and Darlene Yarrington — practicing Monday nights after school. In addition to singing at all the choir concerts, the ensemble had an interesting year performing at the Westbrook Nurs- ing Home and at a Kiwanis Club Luncheon. Kim at the keys. Girls ' Quintet
