The 1978-79 FCA which met every two weeks at either a member ' s home or the home of Mr. Barber, was involved in many interesting activities. These activities included the sponsoring of Christmas gifts and a party for the inmates at the Kent County Sheriff ' s Honor Camp, attending the Pete Carlson Music Concert, attending the Western Michi- Athletes Have Fellowship gan vs Marquette basketball game, and seeing the MSU vs Syracuse football game. The officers of this year ' s Fellow- ship of Christian Athletes were President, Doug Vander- Meer, Vice President; Skip Lockyear, Treasurer; Joni Hen- derson, and Secretary, Lisa Barber. Art Club Gives Spirit The 1978-79 Art club had for its officers this year presi- dent, Nancy Miller; Lori Lonki, vice president; and Joann Babcock, secretary-treasurer. Meeting regularly in the Art room every Monday, they worked on such projects as silk- screening, and designing a Rogers High School pennant which was sold to the student body. Some of the members were involved in decorating the courtyard for Christmas. Other activities that the members were involved in were an art club project sale, taking a trip to the Rockford art shops, and assigning an art league to set up a spring exhibit. NHS Seniors Honored at Graduation The 1978-79 National Honor Society, consisting of 23 members who met monthly at school or at the members ' homes, were involved in many interesting activities. The Society sponsored a dance, two bake sales, and a scaven- ger hunt for the salvation army. They also attended a sem- inar at Grand Valley State College and had a pizza party in May. The officers of this year ' s National Honor Society were President, Brian Uitvlugt; Vice president, Joni Hen- derson; Secretary, Colleen Vatano; and Treasurer, Tim Bartrand. In the spring 38 juniors and sophomores were inducted into the organization. This is the first time sophomores have been included in the club. Also at this time 16 seniors were added to the club ' s roster. To honor the high achievements that the seniors had obtained, the members wore blue cowls and gold tassels for graduation.
