JJ Drama Club Presents Hello Dolly The 1978-79 Drama Club, faced with the problem of raising money for the production of their musical Hello Dolly , came up with several brilliant ideas. During the summer they held a highly successful garage sale and in the fall sold raffle tickets on a color television. The climax of their year came when Hello Dolly co-produced by the club ' s president, Brian Uitvlugt, and Jim Zech, was presented at Godwin Auditorium. Key Club Unlocks National Honors Under the leadership of Mr. Reed and co-presidents Randy Kuzawa and Anne Noseworthy, Key Club once more proved to be the most active organization at Rogers. Exciting events of the year included Teacher Appreciation Week and the state convention held at Port Huron. Among the many service projects that the members worked with was weekly tutoring of elementary students and a spring picnic for the underprivileged children in the Wyoming area. At the state and national convention the club was honored as being one of the best in any high school. Close Encounters of the Political Kind The 1978-79 Close-Up club, in preparation for their annual trip to Washington, D.C., attended the local Close-Up program, where local and country issues were discussed, and the state Close-Up Program in Lans- ing where state issues were viewed. A group of Close-Up representatives flew to Washington, D.C. where they attended workshops, seminars, and listened to speakers on subjects of national and international interest.
