Varsity Excels Tournaments The 1978-79 Varsity Baseball Team hit top form this season when they batted in a super record of 10-10. The team also received recognition when Andy Vavere won the All-Confer- ence award and Ted Beardsley was voted Most Valuable Player. Other leading performers on the team accomplished high batting averages with Andy Vavere averaging .375. The team really came to life at the end of the season as they scored well in tournament play. Part of their suc- cess came as the result of their annual Florida spring training. 1978-79 Varsity Baseball Team The gruesome twosome.

Voted as Most Valuable Player, Clark VerHulst was an immense help during tight spots in games. Tom Hudson also received notice with his top batting average of .354. Chosen as best pitcher, Steve DeVaney STRUCK the opposing team as an OUT-stand- ing young fellow. The entire team pulled together for an 8-8 record and a lot of fun. ' , m Mighty Hudson at the bat.
