Varsity Squad Wins Honorable Mention The 1978-79 Varsity Cheerleaders, with the help of the crowd, raised much spirit at the football and bas- ketball games. They took Honorable Mention at a clinic in November, and beat Wyoming Park Cheerleaders in the annual ice cream eating contest. Junior Varsity Tops Old Record The 1978-79 J.V. Basketball Team shot their way to a fantastic 14-4 record, topping all those from previ- ous years. Excellent maneuvering of the ball by the girls allowed them to score their high game against Wyo- ming Park, massacring them 53-17. This year ' s coach was Miss Miller, and Julie Tanous was chosen as team captain. The league champion, Patty Bates, scored 24 points against West Ottawa and earned a 12 point aver- age per game.
