Cross Country Captures Regional The 1978-79 Cross Country team tracked in a spectacular first place victory at the Regional meet and fourteenth at the State meet. Leading the Hawks were Tim Bartrand, Jim Erickson, and Al Kapla. Tim, voted Most Valuable Player, also made All Conference for his second consecu- tive year. Coach Roos chalked up his 9th winning season with the harriers. Varsity Golf Grabs 4th at Invitational The Varsity Golf Team, coached by Mr. Van AllsBurg, had a reward- ing season this year. Their record of 5 wins and 10 losses was topped by placing 6th in the O.K. Red Confer- ence meet, 6th at the Class B Regionals at Hickory Hills, and 4th at the Grandville Invitational. The J.V. Golf Team was coached by Mr. Crooks and captained by Dave Barrenger. Pete Goettner and Tom Hudson were other outstanding players. Jenison . . . . ,-:.
