CLASS HIS T OR Y FRESHMAN HISTORY Remember how much trouble we had with those lockers we had to take all our books home' And what a maze the school seemed to be somehow rooms never were where we thought they should have been' Undaunted however we the largest Freshman class ln the hlstory of Roger Ludlowe overcame these problems and soon settled down to work The 9 oclock Intramurals the 11 oclock meetings the quick lunch then our afternoon ses sion ln school' That Freshman year really eemed confusing but fun' With the electlon of class officers president Jay Howard vlce president Clinton Salko secretary Sue Wagner and treasurer Janet Edwards we started on our way to that seemingly dlstant goal of being Seniors We showed the upperclassmen our talent when we presented the Freshman Sophomore play Elmer Pat Newman Danny Smith Sue Remhart and Peggy Karbovanec took part ln the comedy mystery At the annual Freshman Get Together new friends were made that we knew would be lasting At the Sweetheart Swmg Judy Wendell represented the class ln the ueen s court As summer drew near it presented a chance for each to gather hls wlts before beginning his Sopho more year SOPHOMORE HISTORY Ludlowe seemed an entirely drflerent world that September m 1956 We had to be awake by 8 A M for classes this was no easy task Our class was now only one hundred and forty seven members strong and weak Many of our friends had gone to the new high school Andrew Warde Enjoying that feeling of superrorlty now that we felt in the swlng of thmgs we offered a helping hand or word to the new confused Freshmen W had to do this since we were so grateful to those who had helped us out durmg our first months We had to organize regulate and adjust to a new program the House System We were dlvlded lnto Webster House and Sllhman House Headmas ter replaced prlnclpal and there was a commons room formerly known as a study hall Class electrons took place in the fall when Andy Marak was elected president Laura MacKenzie uce president Lynn Horton secretary and Sue Wagner treasurer We produced some shlnlng stars ln sports that year Our friendship with our lost classmates was renewed at the first football game wlth Andrew Warde That was a happy day for us we won the game' Runnmg true to form Carl Frltsche and Jack Obljeskx sprained their ankles playing varslty basketball The glrls did a good yob ln the sports department too Nancy Perry Anne Naustdal Lmda Rudls and Kathy Sauer showed us how they could dribble a ball down the basketball court After some rough field hockey games Lmda Stau rovsky was seen hobblmg around the halls wlth brulsed shms' Our activities were many and varied We pon sored the Sweetheart Swmg and even the upper classmen admitted that we dld a good job Biology labs presented a new experlence for many of us How a microscope worked and what a layer of muscle looked like on that frog s leg surely had us bewlldered Learning to understand ,Iulzus Caesar and writing compositions entertamed us ln English class Eileen Drabaskl a soprano was the only student from our class to be selected to smg in an All State Festival ln November 1956 she repre sented our school m the Cholr Wanting to be rld of that term underclassman we watched our wonderful Sophomore year end quickly and that prefix upper drew nigh IUNIOR HISTORY At la t upperclassmen' After studymg and strug glmg for two years we made the grade but we found that more hard work and study lay ahead if we wanted to be on Daisy Cham a Graduation Under the able leadership of our class officers president Kathy Vmcent vice president Janet Ed wards secretary Pat Newman and trea urer Barb ara Derl we started early to plan for the Jumor Prom We set out to increase our budget by selling book covers at all hours of the day Two problems arose for the class What were we to do with the three thousand ordered book covers? How could we solye the mysterious disappearance of the records of our Freshmen class dues? We made our presence felt by the school as a whole too Those with a flair for the dramatxcs Barbara Johnson Sheila Dollard Dave Brundage and Hank Edmonds were lnltlated into the Na tional The plan Society Judy Wendell Kathy Vin cent Lmda Rudls and Sue Dever represented our .lunlor class on the cheerleading squad urglng the fans on ln our school cheers Solving complicated equations ln Algebra II or memorlzmg the laws of Phy arcs were nothing com pared to the composmg of our Junior E say The U S History class and our foreign exchange student I took quite a successful trip to Wash , I , .. , . , , 7 ' Q 7 7 .
