Some of the traditional Roger Bacon activities are gone with the ages. lirmhman Week tright, 1953l was the Olficial initiation of the fresh into the life of the school. It looks like fun for the seniors, but what about the poor freshmen? A vostume dame was held every Halloween lbelow, 195D; and one of the most popular rlanres of all - the Farmers Formal - allowed Spartans and their dates to take off their shoes and wiggle their toes in the mud for an evening. This dance has been replaced by the Christmac. semi-fnrmal. I, FARMER'S FORMAT. - January16,1953: Immediately after commencement ceremonies, graduates and their dates gathered in the cafeteria for the annual Graduation Dance ltop right, 1952l. Roger BaCOn students love their cafeteria, whether it be 1928, 1942 itop and ler, or 1978 tabove leftt; and many will say that lunch period is the most important period of the day. But one tradition seems to have fallen by the wayside: notice the room numbers indicat- ing that students had to sit with their home- rooms during lunch. And, oh yes, smoking is still hazardous to your health - especiaily if you're not in the smoking quarters.
