A. C. GRIFFITH President PAUL MCCURDY FABER CRAIG Vice President Member e 6 6 4 6 0 it DAVE DAVIS K. P. LARSH Clerk Member To the above Members of the Roff Board of Education and to all those who have served in this capacity in the years past: we wish to gratefully dedicate the Tiger annual of 1956. Yours is the task of guiding the local school in all of its varied activities: the select- ing of competent teahcers, the making of policies, the maintaining ofa good school plant, and always keeping in mind the good of the children of your community. You are the men who have seen, and know the full meaning of civic responsibility. You have gladly sacrificed your time, effort, and energy for the worthiest of all causes: the betterment of our youth today and our citizens of tomorrow. Yours has quite often been a thankless job: and too often our patrons, teachers, and others fail to say 'Thank You' for the wonderful work you are doing. We wish to pause at this time and tell you that we do appreciate your work and we feel that we speak the sentiments of our community. Thanks for making our 1956 school 'year ag successful and happy one: and May God Bless You. 7 E S I 6 K

SP1 Sk? ' a To Students and Patrons: It has been my pleasure to sponsor this Class of 1956. You have been one of our finest. May I wish for each of you the best. We today, as educators agree that our schools ex- ist for the sole benefit of the child. Modern schools have as their aim the turning out of a well balanced young man or woman, one that will be useful to so- ciety. An intelligent mind in a healthy body, both guided by good character. We believe that better schools make better com- munities. It is our sincere aim to give you the best possible school for your children with your kind co- operation and understanding. Sincerely, I I O' 4 x , Class of '56: As graduates-to-be, you are probably going to think at some time near graduation: no more school, no more teachers! Don't be fooled, for such a thought is a temporary illusion. The truth of the matter is that you are about to be enrolled in the ,greatest school---Adulthood---and faced by a far more exacting teacher---Life herself. You'll learn much from Life, for she is a teacher of many moods and circumstances. She is sometimes joyous, sometimes turbulent, sometimes depressed ---and you will be affected by each turn of mood. The cir- cumstances of learning will be intentional and accidental, limited and unlimited, surprising and unsurprising, voluntary and involuntary., encouraging and discouraging, and productive and unproductive. Your textbook will be a voluminous tome. entitled 'Wisdom and experience, and your homework will be assignments in Work, Family, and People---for the most part. Of course, there will be many tests given you by the teacher, but the Final Exam will be the one that counts. I hope that each of you 'will meet your teacher fully pre- pared, that each of you will be a good student, and that you will pass the Final Exam with flying colors. Adio's. Hasta Manana. Sincerely, WW
