Paul Robinson Paul's one of our stage-struck fellows and we aren't able to imagine a play here at school without Paul on the stage. Many other accomplishments are his and we can't see what will keep him from success. Pearl Nowland ln her two semesters at River Pearl has made a place for her- self in the senior class. Although she is rather Quiet and reserved in school, she has many friends Ray Sarles Our president is one of the most active fellows in the class and in the school. His Tarzan physique has served him well in all kinds of sports. Jeanne Ormsby From the tip of her toes to the top of her head, Jeanne is stuffed with the three Cs lcheer, cleverness, and cornl. She's a sports enthusiast and she is somewhat of a basket- ball whiz herself. Pat McCullough Pot's first love is her violin and Pat excells in this field. She hos been active in all activities and is well-liked by all her friends. Warren Rudy Being valedictorian, Warren nat- urally hos a great I. Q, and a flair for the intellectual. He doesn't, however, spend all his time emersed in volumes of reading matter, for he also en- joys singing, hiking, and wrest' ling. SENIOR CLASS Kathryn Nylond Bundles of smiles and laughter possessed by Kay contribute much to the ioy of our senior class. Kay's happiness is ex- tremely contagious and everyone enioys her company. Wade Schwa rtzenberg Wade is the Mighty Midget of our class. He is as peppy and as active as anyone around. He is not all humor though, for he is already in the Army Air Corps. twenty-eight

Faye Mac Naughton lf there is a new dance step on the face of the earth, Faye is sure to know it and is able to display it with grace and poise. Next to dancing Faye is fond of pot-lucks, pink blouses, and good jokes. Tom Rice Tom always has loads of friends and they are usually piled high in his car, ready for a day's excursion - when gas permits. Most of the fellows would like to know Tom's secret of how he keeps his hair so nicely combed. ::::: OF 1 944 Ida Rose Martin Although she is shy and quiet Ida Rose is lots of fun. She is a good sport and she is always ready with her special brand of humor. John Roberson Of course we have a Ty Power in our class, and John's the man. He's very generous, would do anything for a friend and he usually does for he has lots of them. twenty-seven Dick Power This shy, taciturn senior may be seen often indulging in sports. When you get to know Dick you will find a wonderful person under all that silence. Joan Marcolin Joan loves to dance and she is quite adept at it, too. She is always ready to ioin in the fun and her good sportsmanship has won her many friends. Betty Schenk It would please Betty it she could spend all her time on skates and, believe me, she can be found out at Puritas, skat- ing, whenever the opportunity arises, Betty has a smooth voice which is a pleasure to hear Bill Shearer Bill's the fellow everyone likes for his poetry, gigantic vocabu- lary, and witty personality. Elected president of l-li-Y twice this year, and always willing to lend a helping hand or cheer us up, he's loads of fun to have around, :::::: OF 1 944 Esther Scott Esther and her twin sister are two beautiful girls. Their hair is their pride and ioy. They always seem to have a pleasant smile for everyone. Romilly Traves Doc is a little guy with a devilish glint in his eye. He is the type that the girls call cute. Excepting when he is talking about airplanes, he is all humor and wit. twenty-nine Roland Seed A three-word description of Rol- lie is small, short, and speedy Although he was new this year, he quickly got into the swing ot things especially when it came to basketball, where he was one ot our star forwards. ,if ,,P' :,W,7,,y'j4 'Y CM, Ma rge Schwa rtz Marge is the girl with the smile, the neat clothes and the only one who this year has never lacked a ride home. Always a good listener to good or bad lakes, she's a joy to the fellas with the corny quips. ,, 0'Q '0'a-0.04-'aaa-0 -f0QQ44Q,,,Q4-444,44-QQ Whitney Slaght At mid-year we all missed Whit's round face, catchy smile and freckles as one ot, our fa- vorite track stars left River and Shirley behind to attend West- ern Reserve University. Evelyn Scott Although Evelyn is larger than Esther, Evelyn is not any more active. Both can be seen mak- ing their way to school in the morning even though they have farther to go than most of us.
